Santa helps raise £7.5k in Pangbourne
Santa is returning to the North Pole after his December tour of 25 different locations, having raised £7,500 for charity.
This sum, which was raised by the annual Pangbourne Rotary Club roving sleigh, is a welcome contribution under the current strained financial climate, added to with bad weather, flu and changing venues.
The funds will be distributed to local Scout groups, PTAs and various charities including MIND, My Cancer My Choices, Q1 Foundation, Teenage Cancer Trust, Tilehurst Churches and to the Rotary Charity fund, to enable members to continue supporting worthy community causes such as Readifood throughout next year.
After the festive visits Pangbourne Rotary Club members thanked the public for their generosity.
The club's next fundraising event is the Woodcote 10K run. The race will start at 10.15am from Woodcote Village Hall on January 8, 2023.
Those interested in joining should visit https://www.woodcote10k.org.uk/registration-2023 to register right up until 30 minutes before the race.
