Santa Jog fundraiser returns to Victoria Park today
In aid of the British Heart Foundation, the fun-packed fundraiser is a chance for all the family to get more healthy, while raising money by running, jogging or walking up to five laps of the 1km course – with a best-dressed competition at the start.
All adults receive a Santa suit to run in and children are encouraged to dress in their favourite festive costume.
The fundraising volunteer manager for the BHF South region, Alison Rosier, said that last year more than 200 people took part in the Newbury Santa Jog and it was hoped to beat that figure this time.
“With a 1km route and the option of running, jogging or walking up to five laps of the course, the event is suitable for all ages and abilities. It provides great fun for the family and is a brilliant way to kick-start the Christmas festivities.”
The Newbury Santa Jog starts from Victoria Park at 11am and will finish around 1pm.
Registration is now open. Entry fee: adults £10 and £5 for under 14s.
Registration on the day opens at 10am and the warm up is 10.45am.
