School fair and pavilion unveiling will raise funds for new library
A school in Thatcham is officially opening a pavilion classroom at a summer fair this weekend, writes Paridhi Mathur.
Spurcroft Primary School's PTA raised funds for the new facility through its fundraising events, including "innovative" ideas during the pandemic.
The pavilion opening, which will take place during the jubilee-themed event, is open to all members of the public regardless of their connections with the school.
The aim of the event, which has been sponsored by Chancellors Estate Agents, is to raise funds for a new library to be built at the school.
Mayor of Thatcham Jeff Brooks will be in attendance.
The highlights of the day include a corgi hunt, live music, bouncy castle, circus skills and many other activities.
The Friends of Spurcroft committee said: “We want to raise as much money as possible for the new library, but also for families to enjoy an inexpensive day out."
Entry will be free, in a bid to "ease additional financial burdens that everyone is experiencing this year".
Many of the activities are offered for donations of less than £1.
The fair will take place at Spurcroft Primary School from noon to 2pm tomorrow, Saturday.
