School fete raises £3,000

Garden party theme to Ashford Hill primary school fete with traditional games

A GARDEN party was the themed style of Ashford Hill primary

school's fete on Sunday (July 17).

Organised by the school's parent teacher association, with free entry, the school grounds were festooned with bunting and Union flags, with lots of fun packed games for the whole family and tasty treats such as cream teas, home made cakes and a barbecue.

Local dance group, Move and Groove, provided entertaining

moves, with a display of country dancing by pupils and an auction of promises.

"On behalf of the school, I'd like to thank the PTA for all their hard work in organising what is our largest community

event of the year," said headteacher, Helen Borley.

The fete raised approximately £3,000 to completely replenish

the school library with new books.
