School games winter festival takes place today (Tues)
The event will feature an opening ceremony with children from six councils performing in a steel band, gymnastics, dance and cheerleading.
It will also feature the first public performance of the Berkshire School Games song, composed by Ryleigh Morrison from Woolhampton Primary School.
There will also be an opportunity to explore the cultural village where, in addition to taking part in their sports competitions, there will be a chance to meet Olympic athletes.
The aim of the games is to deliver a lasting legacy beyond London 2012 and to deliver a sports festival with a wide sustainable, educational community and sports impact.
To secure a place in the Berkshire Games, pupils took part in sporting competitions at a local level.
It takes place at Bradfield College.
