Charity funding buys new climbing frame for Brimpton School
Pupils at Brimpton Primary School have rejoiced at the addition of a new climbing frame.
A joint charitable venture between West Berkshire council, through Dominic Boeck (Con, Aldermaston) and match-funding provided by Wasing Estate's 'The Mount Charity' is to thank for the exciting development.
Not only is it hoped the climbing frame will provide pupils with welcome relief from their daily learning, but that they will receive plenty of exercise and sensory fulfilment.
The change came at the right moment, the school said, as its hall equipment has required updating for some time. The opportunity of applying for grants turned the project from a dream into reality.
"We pride ourselves in our reoccurring Gold Sportsmark we have achieved over the past few years and the enjoyment and priority we put on physical education and wellbeing," said headteacher Heidi Davies.
Mr Boeck added: "I was delighted that I could help this important project with funding from the council.
"We know how much regular exercise helps our children and they can use the climbing frame whatever the weather."
Joshua Dugdale, from Wasing Estates, said: "We were delighted to be able to support this important climbing wall, which will make for a substantial improvement for recreation for the children at Brimpton School."
The pupils are making full use of the new apparatus, especially as weather conditions have made outside play more difficult in recent weeks.
