Senior deputy head appointed at Pangbourne College




Pangbourne College is has appointed Samantha Greenwood as its new senior deputy head.

Mrs Greenwood has worked at the college for the past 10 years, during which time she has filled in for multiple roles including head of mathematics, head of Key Stage 4, deputy head academic and deputy head of character and routines.

"I'm proud to work in a 'people place' with a team of passionate educators who have a deep commitment to our pupils," said Mrs Greenwood.

"Our pupils are at the heart of everything we do and in my new role, I will ensure that we continue to be a community where pupils can flourish."

Chairman of governors Patrick Roberts welcomed the appointment, saying: "Mrs Greenwood is well respected by the pupils and her colleagues alike and she embodies the ethos of the college."

Mrs Greenwood is also involved in other areas of college life, including the Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh Awards scheme.

She added: "Taking an active role in D of E gives me the opportunity to get to know the pupils outside of the classroom, which is really valuable in a leadership role."

Mrs Greenwood started her career as a maths teacher in a large state school before teaching at Marlborough College for 16 years.
