Tilehurst school celebrates 60th anniversary and welcomes senior residents for afternoon tea
Sixth Form students from a Tilehurst school have invited more than 70 elderly members of the community to join them at the school on Monday, January 16 for afternoon tea.
The senior citizens will be waited on by Little Heath School students and treated to sweet treats, bingo and performances.
The event, organised by the Sixth Form Student Committee, will give every attendee a raffle ticket to win prizes donated by students and staff.
The event will be a valuable chance for students to engage with older members of the community.
The school is currently working on a number of other events and activities for staff, students and governors to celebrate the 60th anniversary of its opening.
One project the school will be working on is '60 Voices', which will involve capturing soundbites, video footage and written testimonies from 60 alumni from the past 60 years.
Please contact marketing@littleheath.org.uk if you have a connection to the school, an interesting story or memory to share and want to get involved.
