The Downs School Hosts Futures Career Fair for pupils and parents




The Downs School recently welcomed a large cohort of pupils, parents and carers to its annual Futures Fair.

Representatives from a number of universities, colleges, businesses and the Armed Forces visited the school on November 20 to inform pupils about the wide range of future educational and career pathways open to them.

Careers lead Cate Wilson-Croombs said: “Because of the strong investment in our school’s careers programme, we are able to work at the highest level to prepare our students for their future endeavours.

“A highlight of the evening was the return of many proud alumni, who represented their organisations and shared their career journeys.

“Their involvement served as an inspiring reminder of the achievements possible for current students as they embark on their own paths.”

Headteacher Chris Prosser added: “The Futures Fair is a cornerstone of our commitment to preparing students for life beyond school.

“Seeing their enthusiasm and engagement, alongside the support from our community, reinforces the importance of events like this in shaping their futures.”

Organisations which attended included the University of Bath, Vodafone, AWE and the Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service.

The school wishes to extend its thanks to all participants and visitors who made the evening possible.
