New art classroom and studio proposed at Elstree School

A prep school has applied to extend its facilities.

Elstree School in Upper Woolhampton has applied to West Berkshire Council to convert and extend an existing single detached squash court building to create a new art classroom and studio.

The existing building, built in around 1960, is not listed but is located nearby to the Grade-II* Woolhampton House.

The development and popularity of other school sporting facilities meant the current courtyard buildings have been neglected.

The school believes replacing the buildings will open this area for other teaching and support opportunities.

The council is due to determine the proposal by Tuesday, March 5.
