Bucklebury Church of England Primary School raise nearly £3,000 at summer fete




For the first time in three years, Bucklebury Primary School was able to hold its summer school fete.

On a hot Saturday (July 9), the fete managed to raise £2,879.84 for the school and its activities.

The fete was organised by Bucklebury’s PTA, Friends of Bucklebury School, and was sponsored by Downer & Co.

Headteacher Andy Higgs said: “We were delighted to have a really good turnout from the school family and beyond.

“Raising the best part of £3,000 for a school of 120 children is amazing.

“We are really pleased.”

The fete featured many traditional stalls and games such as welly wanging, coconut shy and tombola for both children and adults.

There was also a beauty stall, pottery painting, and an inflatable slide.

For refreshments, there was a barbecue, ice cream, scones and plenty of drinks options too.

The fete also featured a performance from the school choir and the school’s dance troupe.

Mr Higgs expressed his gratitude towards the Friends of Bucklebury School, as he was hugely grateful for the support they have continuously given to the school.
