Basildon school’s star bakers help raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Care
Pupils from a West Berkshire primary school held their own bake off, all in a good cause.
Families attending Basildon Primary School were tasked with creating sweet treats.
As well as the youngsters cooking up a storm, parents also contributed their own creations.
They were sold in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support, at a coffee morning organised by the Basildon School Association. The school opened its doors to guests for the event.
Caireen Reed, chair of the association, said: “We had a lovely morning welcoming in parents and the community to our Macmillan coffee morning.
“A group of very helpful year 5 and year 6 students helped serve.
“I am delighted to say we raised £151.20.”
