School supports Women's Aid charity

'Our wonderful school community' - headteacher

Hungerford Primary School supported a local charity, Berkshire Women’s Aid, over the festive season.

Families from the school, along with members of a Hungerford Ladies’ Facebook group, put together nearly 100 gift bags and beautifully- wrapped shoe boxes full of items for women and their children who have had to flee domestic abuse.

Headteacher Gerry Heaton said: “I’m thrilled, but not at all surprised, by the response of the children and families of Hungerford Primary School to support this very worthy cause at this time of year.

“It’s a mark of our wonderful community that so many youngsters think about others in need during what can be a very difficult time for other children and families.”
