Bucklebury Primary School completes project to update outdoor play equipment
A village primary school has opened its long-awaited new outdoor play area for pupils to enjoy.
Bucklebury Primary School, located in Upper Bucklebury, finished installing the new play equipment on Monday (March 10) after starting works to dismantle the old area the week before.
Headteacher Andy Higgs said: “Today [Monda] is a joyous occasion as we open our new trim trail.
“This project was made possible by the incredible support of the Friends of Bucklebury School, parents and, crucially, by the generous grants we secured.
“The journey to this moment has been a collaborative one and I'm deeply grateful to everyone involved for being instrumental in bringing this vision to life.
“The Trim trail is a wonderful example of what can be achieved when a community works together.
“We are excited to see the children thrive in this new space.”
The school hopes the new equipment, in direct line of sight of three classrooms, will inspire and give pupils more opportunities to play at break times.
The project was completed via an online fundraiser which raised £9,250 through donations, grants, a Christmas toy hamper raffle and fete money raised over the past two years.
The school received a £2,000 grant from WPA Foundation via TR Health in Worcester and an additional £3,000 from the Peter Baker Foundation via Greenham Trust.
