Elstree School pupils spread Christmas cheer with West Berkshire Food Bank donation

Two Woolhampton schoolboys saved their pocket money to help other children in need this Christmas.

Brothers Percy, eight, and Sam, nine, both saved £1 a week to donate to a charity of their choice.

They decided to support their local food bank with wide offerings of food, drinks and toys for other children who were unlikely to receive any presents this Christmas.

Percy visited Sainsbury's and bought a massive selection of food, also including luxury items including chocolate and candles as well. He donated these to the food bank at Greenham.

Meanwhile, Sam saved £37 to buy toys which he donated to Lidl, which is partnering with charities to distribute the toys.

"What an inspiring idea. We are proud of you and your amazing achievements," said an Elstree School spokesperson.
