Theale Green hosts local primaries for sports festival
A secondary school has welcomed local primary schools to its sports festival.
Theale Green School recently hosted pupils from local primary schools for a two-day sports festival, run by sports leaders in Years 10 and 11.
On Tuesday, 10 October, Key Stage 2 pupils from four local primaries took part in footgolf – merging the skills of both football and golf.
And on the following Wednesday, Key Stage 1 pupils from another six primaries joined in a multi-skills festival which incorporated archery, curling, speed stacking and golf.
School sports coordinator Joe Buxton said: “We are really pleased to have hosted two primary school festivals, which engaged so many students.
“A great deal of fun was had by the students, taking part in many activities they had never done before.
“Both days were a great success and involved more than 100 students across 10 different primary feeder schools.
“Our Sports Leaders were amazing ambassadors for the school and received lots of great feedback from participating schools.”
The schools taking part were: St Finian's Catholic Primary School in Cold Ash, Springfield Primary School in Reading, Woolhampton Primary School, Hermitage Primary School, Long Lane Primary School in Tilehurst and Kennet Valley Primary School in Calcot.
