Schools learned to 'Think Big' during education business competition
The competition, Think BIG was organised by the Education Business Partnership West Berkshire, a registered charity, which develops and promotes links between education and business.
Pupils from local schools, including Kennet, Trinity and The Downs, were tasked with inventing a whacky product, or service, for the year 2060.
Judging took place on Thursday June 14, at The Hilton Hotel, Pinchington Lane Newbury where judges quizzed pupils about their entries., joined later by parents to watch the presentations, including to winners, The Downs School (pictured).
“The Standard of work has been excellent and there were some amazing products,” said Melanie Rosier-Watt, a spokeswoman for the partnership.
Over the last seven months, over 450 pupils from the three schools have taken part in the programme, along with 25 business volunteers.
Judges included: Brian Watt, General Manager of Gist, Greg Rudman, Creative Director of Atlantis Media and Cliff Culver, Sales Manager for Hilton Hotel.
