Schools minister personally congratulates Curridge school
Mr Laws wrote to the school to let them know they were one of only 149 schools in the country where 100 per cent of pupils gained level 4B or above in reading and mathematics and level 4 or above in writing.
In the letter Mr Laws wrote: “Mastery of reading, writing and mathematics is critical to success at secondary school and beyond, so Curridge has helped to give these pupils a really good start for secondary school.”
Headteacher of the school Marilyn Dollard said: “We are absolutely delighted to receive Mr Law’s letter and to have our achievements recognised in this way.
“We will continue to work hard to not only maintain this level of achievement, but to always ensure that our pupils receive the best possible platform to help them on their educational path.”
West Berkshire’s executive member for education, Irene Neill, said: “This is an outstanding achievement.
“Both staff and pupils are to be congratulated on their efforts and subsequent success.
“A great deal of hard work has clearly been put in to reach such notable levels of attainment.”
