Seafood lorry overturns the A339




A lorry carrying tonnes of prawns and shellfish overturned on the A339 last night (Monday)

A LORRY carrying 28 tonnes of prawns and shellfish overturned near to the Vodafone roundabout on the A339 last night (Monday).

Thames Valley Police were alerted at 9.03pm, according to spokesman Craig Evry.

A male driver escaped with minor cuts and bruises after a Wincanton lorry carrying the heavy seafood load had flipped over.

Mr Evry said: "The road was partially blocked by the overturned lorry, and then from midnight to 3pm the road was closed completely to allow for the lorry to be put upright and recovered."
