Search for second body moves to Gloucestershire
Police have moved to a different location to search for a second body in the Sian O'Callaghan case
THE search for a second body in the case of missing 22-year-old Sian O'Callaghan has now moved to Gloucestershire.
A body, believed to be that of Miss O'Callaghan, was found near the White Horse in Uffington, yesterday (Thursday), following a three-day search at Savernake Forest.
Detectives are now at an area near Eastleach (previously reported by police as Northleach), in Gloucestershire, where it is believed a second body may be.
Police believe this body could be linked to an historic case of a missing adult from Wiltshire.
The search is likely to go on for several days.
A 47-year-old Swindon man was arrested yesterday on suspicion of kidnapping and two murders but no charges have yet been brought against him.
At a news conference just moments ago, shortly after 11.30am today, Det Supt Steve Fulcher said: “In the course of dealing with him I personally was taken to two locations by this individual. One near Uffington and we discovered the body we believe to be Sian and another location near Northleach where I believe a second body may be.
“I believe Sian's body was moved to the Uffington area by this individual.
“Sian's body has now been recovered and is currently undergoing a post mortem examination.
“The search at Northleach carried on through the night.”
Miss O'Callaghan, aged 22, had not been seen since she left a nightclub in Swindon early on Saturday morning.
