Prize for winning entry in country-wide competition

THE SEARCH is on for Newbury's worst view, as a prize-winning, country-wide competition gets underway.

Online blind retailer, DirectBlinds.co.uk, has launched a third annual Uk-wide contest and is seeking locals who are fed up of the scene from their window.

David Roebuck, managing director of DirectBlinds.co.uk, said:

“Last year our winner was a homeowner in Gloucestershire who looks out onto a car park every day, but this year we want to find a view that’s even worse.

“We hope those from Newbury, who can only dream of a beautiful scene, take the time to enter our competition for a chance to improve their living space with a brand new set of blinds."

Newbury is overflowing with beautiful scenery, however anyone, for example, whose bedroom unfortunately oversees an unsightly building site, or whose peaceful nights in front of the television are ruined by a busy main road could be in with a chance of winning.

Alternatively, those with only a brick wall, or a litter filled street to see after looking out of their blinds and curtains in the morning could also be in the running.

Anyone with similar - or other - 'worst view' scenes should upload photographs to: www.directblinds.co.uk/blog/direct-blinds-room-with-a-view/ and also to Newburytoday's facebook page.

The winner will receive a set of blinds worth up to £250.
