Kennet School pupil’s stories published
A number of secondary school pupils in Thatcham have become published writers.
Year 10 and Year 11 pupils at Kennet School have launched their own book called Immortal Elements.
The book contains a series of short stories inspired by mythology from around the word.
The stories are told through the lens of an alternative narrative perspective.
English teacher Anthony Killeen said: “This book is the amazing collaborative effort of an extraordinary group of bright minds who met on a series of rainy Wednesdays to discuss mythological literature, share their inspiration, and craft wonderful narratives.
“I am so proud of each and every one of them; they worked incredibly hard to create their stories and were an absolute joy to explore literature with.
“I look forward to seeing more of their writing on bookshelves in the future.”
At the book launch itself, pupils read extracts from their stories, signed copies of the book and celebrated being in print with their families.
