Seize every opportunity, says millionaire
Mr Green, who starred in the Channel 4 show of the same name, told supporters of the homeless charity Children 1st West Berkshire and young people in the area, including school pupils, the story of his path to success.
This was followed by a visit to Cornerstone, the house rented by Children 1st West Berkshire for the young people the charity supports, and met both mentors and residents.
One of the coaches at Mr Green’s company, Kevin Green Wealth, Chris Rowell, also visited, and mentored charity staff and trustees on good business practice.
Mr Green was a dairy farmer in Wales who, following the death of his sister from lupus ,aged 20, decided to make more of his life.
In 1999 he won a scholarship to travel the world to interview champions of industry, including Sir Richard Branson and Bill Gates, to ascertain what it was in their mindset is that made them so successful. The same year he bought his first house and is now one of the UK’s largest private landlords.
A volunteer at the charity, Fiona Matthews, said that she was incredibly proud to have secured the visit of Mr Green and Mr Rowell.
“He talked about how you need to have big things happen to you to change your life.
“He said you have to seize every opportunity and that you have to make it happen.”
She added: “It was fantastic; they really are the most amazing couple of guys. They were really inspirational and engaged everybody. It was a dream come true.”
