'Serious' gas leak closes James Lane in Burghfield

A spokeswoman for South Gas Network (SGN), Claire Buchanan, said that specialist equipment was being brought in to carry out the “complex repair” today (Friday) after its network was damaged by third party contractors on Thursday night.
Engineers were on scene overnight to establish the extent of the damage and make the situation safe, and work has continued all day today.
Ms Buchanan said: “It's difficult to estimate exactly how long it will take to complete this repair at this point.”
Anyone experiencing low gas pressure or a loss of gas, should report this to the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999.
