M4 delays and queuing traffic on the A34 after earlier accident shuts road

There are currently severe delays on the M4 through West Berkshire.

And an earlier crash on the A34, just north of Newbury, has compounded the problems.

Traffic is queuing for around 40 minutes on the westbound carriageway between junction 13 at Chieveley and junction 14 at Hungerford.

There are also further queues for traffic trying to get on to the M4 at junction 13 and for those going north on the A34.

The road was closed in both directions after an earlier crash on the northbound carriageway between the M4 junction at Chieveley and the Beedon turn off.

This has now been cleared and the road reopened but residual delays persist.
