Severe weather warnings continue for south east this week
The Met Office’s yellow severe weather warning for wind and rain today (Mon) is followed by an amber warning of high winds tomorrow/Christmas Eve and a further, yellow warning of high winds on Friday (December 27).
Another spell of stormy weather is expected to affect many areas, with wind increasing later on Boxing Day, which is likely to peak during Friday (Dec 27), according to the Met Office.
Gusts of 70 to 80 mph are possible, especially in exposed parts of the south and west.
Spells of heavy rain can also be expected, including in those areas that remain saturated from rainfall earlier in the week.
The public should be aware of the potential for disruption, especially where high winds are combined with heavy rainfall and to take extra care.
The weather on Christmas Day will be clear, according to the Met Office.
