Aldermaston sex offender Mervyn Palmer locked up after breaching order
A MAN has been locked up after breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).
Mervyn Palmer appeared in the dock at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, January 21.
The 57-year-old, of Wrays Farm, Rag Hill, Aldermaston, admitted four counts of breaching the order which was made by a court in Oxford in May, 2022.
Specifically, Palmer admitted creating a Snapchat account, by failing to declare internet-enabled devices and by failing to notify police of a laptop in his possession.
Those offences were committed in Aldermaston on various dates last year.
He further admitted failing to inform police of his contact with children under 16 in Newquay, Cornwall, on various dates last year.
Magistrates sent the case to be sentenced by a judge sitting at Reading Crown Court on a date to be fixed.
They meanwhile refused bail to palmer, who was legally represented by Gianpaolo Damiani, and remanded him in custody.
