Shalbourne prepares to party

The May Day Fair takes place this afternoon (Monday) with live music and dancing

SHALBOURNE is getting ready for its May Day Fair today (Monday).

The event kicks off at 2pm and will continue until 5pm on the village green.

This year's fair has been given a boost by local postmistress and Shalbourne Stores owner Polly Dickins, who has taken on the jobn of co-ordinating and organising and has been successfully drumming up support.

There will be craft stalls, live music, country dancing, a dog show, plant stalls, skittles, coconut shy, swing boats, trampolines, barbecues, cream teas and more.
