Shaw salon staff celebrate award shortlist

LK Hair and Beauty salon, in Regnum Drive, has made it to the finals in three of the 18 categories after being nominated by clients
The salon’s junior stylist, Rissy Gannon, aged 19, has been nominated for junior stylist of the year, while beauty therapist Naomi Gibbs, aged 41, is also in the running for the beautician of the year award.
Overall, LK Hair has been nominated for overall salon of the year in the south east region.
Salon owner Kim Elphick said: “We are absolutely delighted.
“Rissy has excelled since qualifying and is an asset to the team… Our beautician, Naomi, has industry experience in excess of 20 years and we are thrilled that her hard work and professionalism has enabled her to secure a place in the final.
“We would like to thank our long standing clients for their continual support.
“A win in any of the categories would be fantastic, however I am extremely proud of the dedication the team has put in to achieve the nominations.”
Salon manager, Kim Piper, added: “It’s nice because we are independent.
“We feel it’s a huge achievement just to get nominated and get through to the finals, we are not a Toni and Guy, we are not out there with the big boys.”
The finalists will be announced at an awards ceremony in Manchester on March 3.
