Sheepdrove hosts first round of 'Countryfile' photo judging

The footage is due to be aired on Sunday, August 31 and the sun was shining back in July when the BBC Countryfile team journeyed from their Bristol base to Lambourn and the Berkshire Downs.
Every year, the programme holds a competition for viewers to submit their snaps of farming and the countryside for the annual calendar which raises millions of pounds for BBC Children in Need.
This year, eight previous competition winners were tasked with studying more than 32,000 entries from within the Oak Room at the Sheepdrove Eco Conference Centre.
A shortlist of 3,000 entries was made, from which the final 12 images will be selected by judges John Craven, Bill Bailey and Charlotte Uhlenbroek.
The judges were filmed arriving in Sheepdrove’s own tractor and trailer before then being escorted to various other on-site locations throughout the day.
The judges had the opportunity to see grazing herds of native British cattle; Aberdeen Angus and Shorthorn, flocks of Herdwick, Lleyn and Shetland sheep and family groups of rare-breed Berkshire pigs, all of which provide customers with organic and free-range meat.
The 12 finalist images will be revealed during the Countryfile program on Sunday.
