Shop gets special delivery for royal couple

Sweet treat in store for Prince William and Kate Middleton

CONFECTIONERY giants Haribo have delivered a special consignment of sweets to a Bucklebury store after hearing Prince William and his fiancee Kate Middleton, whose family live in the parish, favoured them.

Peaches Spar Store in Upper Bucklebury received the special delivery yesterday (Thursday) from bosses at Haribo.

The new line of sweets, inspired by the royal engagement, is called Hearts and Rings and Other Nice Things.

They are hot off the production line and currently unavailable anywhere else.

Store owner Hash Shangadia said: “We were overwhelmed. The royal couple do come in here for Haribo sweets and we are really looking forward to offering them something completely new.”

Haribo managing director Herwig Vennekens said: “There have been a number of announcements recently claiming that the Royal couple are fans of Haribo and that they buy products from Peaches Spar Store.

“We felt that in order to support the local store we would provide them with the product before anyone else in the country. It is just a small gesture but we hope it goes some way to thanking them for their continued support of our products and range.”
