Shop Local week - free parking in Newbury

From today until Friday, shoppers can park without paying in the afternoons, in four Newbury car parks – Camp Hopson, Parkway, Kennet Centre and Northbrook Street multi-storey.
The week-long Shop Local Week event, which has been organised by the Newbury Business Improvement District (BID), will culminate with dazzling displays from the Covent Garden Entertainers, who bring their perfectly crafted show from the streets of London on Saturday, July 6.
From 11am, six different acts will be at various sites around the town centre, including Market Place and Parkway.
The week also includes national Independents’ Day, which aims to promote and recognise all the local retailers who help make the town such a unique and vibrant place to be and celebrate the real variety independent retailers bring to the high street.
