Newbury shoplifter Christopher Phipps sentenced

A thief has been sentenced for shoplifting.

Christopher Phipps appeared in the dock at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, August 13.

The 43-year-old, of Newtown Road, Newbury, admitted stealing a pair of Bose headphones worth £350 belonging to Thomas White in Reading on December 13 last year.

Phipps, who has previous convictions, was made subject to a 12-month conditional discharge.

No order was made for costs but he was required to pay a statutory victim services surcharge.
