Sian O'Callaghan accused faces new murder charge
Miss O’Callaghan's disappearance from a Swindon nightclub in March sparked searches at Savernake Forest
The man accused of murdering Sian O'Callaghan was last night formally charged with killing Becky Godden-Edwards.
Miss O'Callaghan's disappearance from Suju nightclub in Swindon on March 19 sparked a major search by police and local villagers of Savernake Forest, a few miles west of Hungerford.
Miss O'Callaghan's body was subsequently found near the White Horse in Uffington on March 25.
On the same day, forensic teams discovered human remains in Eastleach, Gloucestershire, which were later confirmed to be those of Swindon woman Becky Godden-Edwards, who had been missing for eight years.
Taxi driver Chris Halliwell, 47, of Ashbury Avenue, Swindon, who has already been charged with the kidnap and murder of Miss O'Callaghan, has now been charged with the murder of Miss Godden-Edwards.
Mr Halliwell is due to appear before Worcester Magistrates' Court today.
