Signalling problem causing rail delays (Monday)

An obstruction on the line, believed to be a fallen signal, is said to be causing the delays.
Passenger Will Debenham tweeted: "A train has just run over a signal that fell across the tracks, stuck in Newbury, brilliant."
Rail operator First Great Western has said that a signalling problem near Thatcham is causing the delays and there is no confirmation of when normal services will resume.
However, they estimate that the disruption is likely to continue until 5.30pm.
A bus replacement service is expected to run between Newbury and Reading from 4.15pm.
