Silchester obtains authority to draft neighbourhood plan

Silchester has obtained the authority to prepare its own neighbourhood plan.

Silchester Parish Council applied for the right to create a plan in July and on October 16 permission was granted by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council.

Neighbourhood plans allow communities to have a bigger say in the future of their areas, particularly in regards to planning.

Silchester residents will be able to choose where they want new developments to be built, have a say on what they look like and grant planning permission for new buildings they want to see go ahead once the plan is drawn up and approved.
