Silver band on Broadway

On Saturday, for the fourth year running, East Woodhay Silver Band return to St Nicolas’ Church for a charity concert.
This year’s concert – on a theme of West End and Broadway musicals – is in aid of Volunteer Centre West Berkshire.
In addition to selections and solos played by the band, there will be an opportunity for the audience to join in the singing of several well-known songs, led by the evening’s soloist Kate Izzard, who will be performing a number of her favourite songs from the shows.
Kate is a Berkshire-based singer specialising in musical theatre singing, who also has a wide repertoire of songs from different genres. She often sings locally, being involved with groups such as the Kingsclere Singers, Kingsclere Players and Echoes of Elvis, and has a role in next week’s Newbury Musical Theatre Society production of Sweeney Todd, at Arlington Arts (Wednesday to Saturday).
Tickets, priced £10, are available from the Corn Exchange box office, telephone 0845 5218 218.
