Sing Out Choir launched by West Berkshire Mencap
Members of the service are already working on producing a charity single
A choir for adults with learning disabilities has been launched by West Berkshire Mencap, and members are already planning to record their first charity single.
The Sing Out choir was requested by the charity's adult service users, to give them the opportunity to sing, learn new songs and try out different genres of music with their friends.
Each week the choir has a different theme, with weeks since its formation including pop, rock and musicals.
And recently, the charity decided to record its own single featuring members of the choir, to tell of the work and support that West Berkshire Mencap provides to children and adults with learning disabilities and their families.
The song has been written by a staff member at the charity.
Administrator of Sing Out, Christine Copeland, said: "So many of our members enjoy music.
"The choir has given them the chance to build confidence and self-esteem through a shared experience and a sense of achievement.
"Most importantly, they have a regular time each week to have fun trying out new songs with their friends."
