Singer Pixie Lott visits Newbury to sign new single
The chart-topping star – who has had three number one hits with ‘Mama Do’, ‘Boys and Girls’ and ‘All About Tonight’, also posed for pictures and chatted to youngsters at the Italia Conti Associate School, based at St Gabriel’s School.
The 23-year-old singer was returning to her theatrical roots, having attended Italia Conti Associate School in Chislehurst from the age of five before moving on to do a scholarship at the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts in London.
Speaking to the Newbury Weekly News after the event, she said: “It’s lovely being back at Conti, it’s like a big family. I loved it, the shows were my favourite part.”
Recounting her experiences, she added: “Just keep going if you’re really passionate. It’s good to experience knock backs, it makes you immune. Hard work always pays off.”
When asked what Pixie was like as a student at Italia Conti, her parents, who attended the signing, said: “She was focused and dedicated. She always wanted to be a pop star, always had to be busy.”
Pixie Lott has recently started a music night in East London on the first Thursday of every month, for aspiring singers and to raise money for charity.
