Newbury singer songwriter Zoe Badman blazes trail with stunning debut single
IT'S not often that a new singer songwriter breaks the mould, with professional musicians queuing up to help them launch their career.
But Zoe Badman's debut single boasts a glittering rosta of nationally acclaimed artists who have demonstrated their faith in her by offering their services.
Behind the startling, impassioned vocals, the self-penned Backbone features Bill Banwell (Rag'n'Bone man, Joss Stone, Hoosiers, Pink, Kelis) on bass; Paul Jordanous (Rag'n'Bone Man, Yolanda Brown, Joss Stone, Pink) on keyboards and trumpet; Leo Appleyard on guitar; Bubu Otis on drums; Jon Bird on trumpet and Matt McNaughton on saxophone.
Backbone is already getting airplay on BBC radio and an EP is set to follow in summer.
Zoe Badman is well known locally, having cut her teeth on the pub circuit, building up a reputation as a polished live performer on vocals and guitar.
She will be performing her first headline release show at the Half Moon in Putney, South West London, on April 25.
This will be with the full band and special guests JOP and Max White.
Meanwhile Zoe Badman is currently embarking on a UK tour with the leading Bruce Springsteen tribute band Sound of Springsteen.
She has previously supported Dodgy and played with the likes of Newton Faulkner.
Zoe said: "It's been nearly two years in the recording process, so I'm over the moon with all the positive feedback for Backbone."
