Vox Fresh singing sessions hope to support young mental health at Thatcham Festival
Thatcham will soon be alive with the sound of music thanks to Vox Fresh.
The singing group is bringing its ‘Sing with Confidence’ sessions to the Thatcham Festival on Saturday, October 7.
Founder Kat Penn said participating in Thatcham Festival means reaching more young people and supporting them through music.
She said: “Singing isn’t something that young people always realise they enjoy, but actually its something they all do really regularly – quite often just along to YouTube etc in their rooms.
“After initial nerves the young people have realised that the session is relaxed and fun and that music does make them feel good.
“The young people will often think they can’t do something and default to that assumption.”
She said by the end they get an adrenaline high and realise they can achieve things they never thought they could.
“They can then apply this logic to other parts of their world,” she said.
The recommended age is 11-years-old – 24-years-old.
Tickets can be booked on Eventbrite and more information can be found on the Thatcham Town Council website.
