Six car collision brings traffic chaos

Motorists stranded as police close A339 through town
A SIX car collision brought traffic to a standstill on the A339 just before 6pm this evening (Wednesday).
Both lanes south-bound between the Robin Hood round-about and the Sainsbury round-about were closed at 6.30pm for police to clear vehicles but the road was reopened at 7.10pm.
There were reports of motorists having been stuck on the A34 and other roads for over half an hour as the town centre roads ground to a halt.
