Snow could cause travel chaos tomorrow

Met Office warns that West Berkshire will be hit by snow tomorrow (Friday)

THE MET Office has warned that parts of West Berkshire may be affected by snow tomorrow (Friday) – possibly leading to travel disruptions.

It has predicted that outbreaks of rain will turn readily to snow during the early hours of Friday across parts of Wales and the Midlands, then increasingly spread into central and southern England, including West Berkshire by dawn.

The snow is likely to accumulate over time, particularly but not exclusively on higher ground and is likely to extend as far east as the western parts of London.

The warning was first sent out yesterday (Wednesday) as a low-level, yellow warning, but has since been escalated to the more serious amber category.

The office warns that travel disruptions may occur on Friday.
