Dog of the Week: The latest dogs looking for their forever homes from Newbury Dogs Trust
Welcome to this week’s Dog of the Week.
Dogs Trust Newbury still has a number of dogs at its Hamstead Marshall base who need a new home, writes Grace Dowdney.
And so, every Sunday we will continue to shine a spotlight on one of them to try to help spread the word.
Nationwide, the charity currently has 752 dogs that are looking for a family to join.
You can find out more about adopting a dog by visiting the charity’s website.
Today we would like you to meet Roscoe, a five-year-old greyhound looking for his forever home.
“Roscoe is a stunning five-year-old greyhound with a heart as big as his stature,” said the trust.
“This handsome fella absolutely adores the company of his human friends.
“One of Roscoe's favourite pastimes is making new doggy pals — he's become quite the social butterfly since joining us.”
The trust added that they think he would thrive in a home with another dog as he enjoys playtime.
“Having been an ex-racer, Roscoe absolutely loves to dash around,” they added.
“He's also a bit of a foodie and can't resist delicious treats.
“When it comes to toys, Roscoe has a soft spot for tennis balls and footballs.
“He has... wonderfully long legs that love to stretch and explore.”
Roscoe is looking for a loving home that offers a traditional layout with distinct rooms.
Access to a garden or a secure area where he can safely run and play off-lead is essential.
The trust suggests that Roscoe is best suited for an adult home or one with children aged 16 and over.
Those looking after him in Newbury at the moment, added: “Before you know it, Roscoe will be wagging his tail, eager to share some playful moments with you.”
