Space week out of this world for Castle School pupils

From space-themed cookery to planet-making, alien construction to rocket launching, it was all on the agenda at the Donnington-based school’s space-themed week last week.
Pupils put their acting skills to the test in creating and re-enacting a tale of travelling into space during the week, which ran from Monday 13 to Friday 17, and each class also made a model planet to create the solar system between them.
School headteacher Jon Hewitt said: “These weeks are really fantastic as they enable all our young people and the school community to truly work with each other and learn together.
“We have some budding scientists in our midst at the Castle School.
“They launched their own water rockets into the sky, which were very impressive, along with launching our own real mini-rockets that reached about 200-metres high.
“A wonderful week for all, thanks to the dedication of the staff and the hard work of the pupils.”
