'Spin the clock' part of Saturday's entertainment in Newbury





Volunteers from the Newbury branch of the charity will be outside Wilkinsons in Northbrook Street from 11am - with a giant clock, to signify their 24/7 service and mark the Samaritan’s national annual awareness day.
Passing shoppers can spin the clock hands for a donation, to win a prize if the hands stop on ‘24’ or’7’, with helium balloons for children.
Just around the corner, shoppers can refresh themselves with at a coffee morning hosted by the Indo-British Collaborative Group, from 11am at Newbury Town Hall, proceeds in aid of India’s Uttarakhand Disaster Relief Fund.
The afternoon’s sports fixtures include a cricket match, Thatcham v Bagshot, at Thatcham Cricket Club.
Those seeking the great outdoors should head to Cobbs Farmhouse, Hungerford, for displays of birds of prey by Hill Top Birds of Prey. For information visit www.cobbsfarmshop.co.uk.
