THATCHAM after targeting a six-point return this week to keep their season bubbling over in advance of a ‘massive’ Bank Holiday weekend.

Town’s 6-2 win over Bracknell Town in midweek took them into fourth spot in the embryo Hellenic League table as they face a trip to Oxford City Nomads on Saturday and the visit of Binfield on Tuesday night.

After this week, they entertain Guildford City in the FA Cup on August 29 and then have reigning champions Flackwell Heath at Waterside Park on holiday Monday.

“We hope to get six points over this week and go into the Bank Holiday flying, said co-manager Gareth Thomas, who stands by to make his first appearance of the season with Tom Moran and Paul Taplin both missing.

Mark Hughes is also suspended but Jordan Seward returns and striker Ian Davies is in line for another run-out after making a 15-minute cameo against Bracknell.

Tadley Calleva have a key early season Wessex League clash when they are at home to Amesbury Town on Saturday.

Amesbury finished one place below Tadley’s third last season and began this campaign with a 3-3 home draw against AFC Stoneham before making thier own home exit from the FA Cup last week, 2-1 to Bemerton Heath Harlequins.

Newbury play their first game back in the Thames Valley Premier - former the Reading - League when they entertain Rotherfield United at Faraday Road on Saturday and in the same division AFC Aldermaston entertain Cookham Dean and Mortimer have Unity as visitors..
