James Rusby - forced home second goal
Hungerford Town 2 Biggleswade Town 0
HUNGERFORD endured that it was not three in a row as they took a two-goal lead and this time kept it intact to record their first league win of the season.
Biggleswade had the chances to cause some worries but defender Ryan Frater was not the best meant take them as he twice headed off the target when well placed.
But Hungerford pocketed the goals, the first midway through the first half when Alan O’Brien won the ball back off full back Charlie Hunter and crossed perfectly for Nat Jarvis to head home his third goal in as many matches.
The second goal came 10 minutes after the break when Matt Collins’ corner to the near post was headed on by Gary Horgan and James Rusby eventually forced it over the line.
There were few scares after that with the visitors reduced in the main to long-range efforts as Hungerford stepped up the table in advance of the Bank Holiday weekend.
