HUNGERFORD TOWN beat top and bottom to claim six holiday points to move into seventh place in the Evo Stik League Southern’s Premier Division.

A goal early in each half accounted for bottom of the table Bedworth United on their 3G surface on Saturday.

Hungerford have labored in the past against the lower teams, but they had few scares, although Matt Day had to clear off the line at a key stage.

They went ahead when Nat Jarvis flicked the ball on for Rhys Tyler to net his first goal for the club after only seven minutes.

Jarvis hit the post and bar but Day wrapped it up when Jon Boardman flicked on James Rusby’s throw for Day to score.

Monday’s home game with unbeaten league leaders Chippenham Town was a stalemate until 15 minutes from time when substitute Alan O’Brien drove home the winner during final 30 minute period that was in contrast to the dour opening hour.
