GOLF: Newbury and Crookham and West Berks claimed a brace of titles with wins this week.

Newbury and Crookham’s first team secured the Reading and District Inter Club League title with one match still to play after scoring a 7-0 win over Calcot Park as Kevin Dunks and Sam Medway, Nick Woodage and George Todd and Chris Harrison and England senior international David Niven produced a sweep of birdies as Newbury won the league’s top flight in their first season following promotion.

Meanwhile, West Berks claimed the Central Sevens League Knock-Out Cup with a 2-1 win over Feldon Valley 2-1 at Heythrop Park where Tim Howes holed a birdie putt on the 18th to clinch the trophy.
